Champlain Retreat

ASLA MERIT AWARD - By revising the approach of the client's driveway to their home and guest home, amazing views, light, and opportunities were created on this unique Lake Champlain property. Trails were designed to link the newly formed meadows, active play areas, recreated forest, guesthouse, lakeside, and main home. These trails vary from simple mulch, beach stone and boardwalk surfaces. Adirondack style railings were added to catwalks over rocky outcrops. Large panton stone boulders created edges for patios and stone steps through the woods to the lake while massive bluestone patios grace the guesthouse. The plantings reflect the casual lakeside and natural lifestyle of the client.
